You know you have a Diet Coke problem when you find yourself drinking out of different cans in different rooms - and they’re all cold. Perhaps you have more of a problem if they’re not cold….

I’ve been interviewed! It’s all about being a gemologist, starting an Etsy Shop, and business. Check it out:

Whatever you do, DO NOT buy this toy. When the box said it needed batteries, I clearly wasn’t thinking! It needs batteries to, get this, SOUND like a vacuum. And it does! The dog and I are both permanently traumatized. Cece loves it of course.

go-mo-go asked: Hey Gillian! So I've recently stumbled across Diamond In The Rough jewelry. I find it very unique! Being a gemologist, how do you feel about their engagement rings from the style to the price of the uncut stones? Thanks! -Nina

What does Cece say to me when I go in to wake her a WHOLE HOUR after nap time normally ends? “What you wake me up for?” Jeez. Two going on Sixteen!
And that’s a yawn in the photo:)

FaceTime is the best babysitter ever! Cece facetimed Daddy and went off to her playroom…Last thing I heard was “You wanna play choo-choo train with me”. That was 20 minutes ago.

The term Pave diamonds comes from the French verb ‘paver’, or ‘to pave’. The idea is to set the stones so close together that no metal shows through - but the way a master actually accomplishes this is to pull tiny prongs out of the heated metal to hold the stones in place. Really, just about anything paved in diamonds sounds good to me…And this band is a perfect...

The great Lollipop debate
Really, I can’t make this stuff up! Last night, my husband, in his infinite wisdom, gave our daughter a huge LOLLIPOP (turned out to be a tootsie pop) as we were putting her to sleep! In her CRIB!!!! To say I was upset is an understatement. At first I tried to take it back, but really, taking candy from a baby is just cruel, so I let it go. Until said tot was asleep and I had the hubby to...

Worms in Capri Sun?!?!?
I’m so grossed out right now I almost threw up. I don’t believe everything I read, but this story seems to be legit. Just another sad reminder that the US government has no organization to protect our country’s food supply - or us as consumers - and unfortunately our children are often the youngest, most innocent victims.

Another happy customer!
Who wrote just the sweetest note!
“Hi Gillian! I just wanted to let know that K proposed this weekend with your beautiful ring I fell in love with! That sneaky, diabolical, wonderful man had been scheming behind my back and pulled off such a wonderful surprise!!! I wanted to thank you for helping him and being so patient and understanding. He’s so proud and I’m so very happy...

Just got this from Neiman's
Mostly agree, but why all the yellow gold? White gold/silver is definitely a “must” have.

Now this is just getting silly...
So today I go into Cece’s room to get her up, and once again she’s refusing to get out of the crib. This time she’s on an airplane. She’s got all her stuffed animals lined up like they’re in the seats around her. And she’s yelling, “Land-ho, the airplane comes down” and now, “Mommy, the airplane landed!”. Where does she get this stuff?...

Dear San Francisco,
Thank you for the beautiful day today. The temperature is perfect, the sun is shining, and the very slight breeze is delightful. Thanks for reminding me why I live here. Love always, Gillian

Cece, who woke up 30 minutes ago, is refusing to get out of her crib. Apparently she’s having a party. With owl and hippo. Each time I go in there she yells, “Not ready yet!”. Yikes!

My morning so far...
-Pouring Pouring Rain (I hate rain).
-Up all night with baby.
-Due to being up all night with baby, hear the sprinklers go off at 5am (note pouring rain).
-Persistant eye infection for me.
-Attempt to make super yummy breakfast (to make us all feel better) results in grease fire in the kitchen.
-Oodles of new laundry (baby + stomach flu = laundry)
-Pouring Pouring Rain.
Gotta get in the...

Just when I think my sleepless nights up with a baby are over, the tot gets a stomach bug. Apparently being up with your children at night never ends.

The grocery bill is WHAT?!?!
Lately I’ve been following an interesting discussion going on in one of my parenting groups: How much does your family spend a month on groceries?
Really, I never asked anyone this before because I thought we were being obscene. We waste more than we should, throw away anything that’s been in the fridge past a few days, buy all organic, and eat a lot of meat. Not to mention wine....
